Diet Doc Pre-Packaged foods Review

                                        HCG Diet
I was given the opportunity to try and review three pre-packed weight loss foods from Diet Doc. I chose to try the soups:

Diet Doc Steak Soup – 20 calories per serving – just add meat and vegetables
Diet Doc Hot & Sour Soup – 20 calories per serving – just add tofu or chicken
Diet Doc Thai Chicken –Add chicken and vegetables

I've had all these foods before and they sounded really yummy so I figured "hey, why not?" I am not very overweight but I do need to lose about 20 lbs or so. Just for me, to make me happy. I have, and am looking at different ways to do so, so when I was asked if I was willing to try these I said yes!  So here's what happened:

I applied to try the Diet Doc Pre-Packaged foods to lose weight for the holidays. I received my package and prepared my meal plan. First though, we need to know about Diet Doc and what the deal is.... here's what they have to say:

"Diet Doc also makes fabulous weight loss bars, shakes , “fatless” cooking oil and salad dressings that are perfectly formulated for the hCG diet.  The Diet Doc food is so tasty that you’ll enjoy our food even if you’re on another weight loss diet or are not dieting at all.

You might be asking, “What is the hCG diet?”  The hCG diet was initially created over 60 years ago by Dr. A.T.W. Simeons where hi s patients achieved rapid weight loss when the human-produced hCG hormone was given in a low dose, coupled with a 500 calories per day diet.  Diet Doc is the only modern day version of the hCG weight loss diet.  The doctors at Diet Doc took the original Dr. Simeons’ hCG diet protocol and updated it to one where dieters consume no less than 800 calories per day in conjunction with prescription level hCG injections or sublingual tablets.  Each dieter also consumes hCG diet foods, weight loss shakes and weight loss oil specifically created for an hCG diet.
The Diet Doc weight loss program is a medical weight loss diet program in which each person receives a comprehensive medical review of his/her health history to make sure that they are a good candidate for the Diet Doc diet.  "  See the HCG Diet Plan here.
Sounds pretty good to me. According to their website, my BMI is high and I'm considered overweight. Okay, so what now??? I decided to go ahead and make the soups. The first I made was the Steak Soup. Since at the time I didnt have any steak, I used turkey (and because it was right after Thanksgiving!) I set the seasoning mix they include in the amount of water it said to and set aside for 10 mins. It looked okay and smelled ... well, kinda like what I'd expect diet food to smell like.  Then I added in beef broth and the turkey and veggies and cooked. During cooking the smell didn't smell too good. Seemed pretty salty smelling to me. However, I tasted it anyway and it tasted pretty darn good. If you like steak sauce then this soup is just fine. The seasoning mix/broth base tastes a lot like steak sauce, not A1 quality but pretty good store branded steak sauce. So anyway, with the smell and taste out of the way I had to actually EAT the soup... ready...  here goes....

It's not half bad. It has a garlic tone to it and it didn't thicken so it is literally soupy. Think Campbell's soups. As for the meat and veggie add ins, they worked well. I'm actually impressed. I thought it'd be gross from the initial smell. After eating it a little  I realized it has a marinated fire roasted kind of flavor to it. I think it would be great with chicken and veggies as well, not just beef. Overall, I'm happy with it. I like it even :) If you don't mind garlic and onion and you love steak smothered in A1 - this is your soup!

The other two soups, the hot and sour and the thai chicken... they didn't impress me. In fact, I didn't like them at all.  Want to check it all out for yourself? Go here: Fast Weight Loss
